About the Event

Join This is Not an Ulpan, The Willy Brandt Center, and Bimkom for a screening and discussion of “Umm al-Hiran” a short film directed by Ayshah Abu al-Qian and Ruqayyah Abu al-Qian on the forced displacement of the Bedouin community of Um al-Hiran. The film is part of 'Recognized' the Negev Coexistence Forum documentation project.

Following the screening, Architect Dafna Saporta will explain the historical context and current reality of the forced displacement of Bedouin communities in Um al-Hiran and across the Negev.  


Dafna Saporta is the Negev Coordinator at Bimkom – Planners for Planning Rights, a human rights organization advancing the development of planning policies and practices that are more just and respectful of human rights, and responsive to the needs of local communities.
