About the Event

At "Unpacking the ICJ Ruling: Annexation, Home Demolitions, and Planning Policy in East Jerusalem," we will discuss the recent surge in home demolitions in East Jerusalem, which have intensified significantly since October 7th, 2023. We will place East Jerusalem in the context of its occupation and annexation, learn about demolitions as part of a wider planning policy designed to control the city’s demographic balance and hinder Palestinian development, and examine the position of the ICJ's ruling on this practice.

The evening will feature a lecture by an Ir Amim researcher, a short film, and a Q&A session with an activist from East Jerusalem.
