Join Gila Project for Trans Empowerment ("Transgenders for Social Justice") and This is Not an Ulpan on January 26th for an online lecture and discussion: Who's Fighting the Trans Community and Why It Should Concern Us All?


The conservative right has weaponized the transgender community, using it as a tool to stoke division, fear, and chaos. States and communities worldwide are embroiled in heated political battles over trans issues. Russia has gone so far as to effectively outlaw transgender people, and numerous countries have swiftly passed anti-trans legislation. Even the established liberal feminist movement has struggled to navigate the issue.


Israel, too, has imported increasingly transphobic rhetoric, positioning the transgender community as a symbol of progressive and human rights-centered movements.
